Walk to Sheepscombe's Holy Well (Mentioned in the Vatican Records)

A well-attended short walk was conducted by Conrad Sheward accompanied by Keith the detectorist who had worked on the adjoining fields. Keith's amazing finds were later inspected over tea in the Village Hall.

Saturday 6th July 2024



Tea Party   
The Society hosted a tea party for more than 40 residents and evacuees who lived in Sheepscombe 60 or more years ago.
The next party should be in the summer of 2026. If you have never been invited and will be eligible to be invited, please contact the secretary - Caroline Roberts  (secretary@sheepscombehistory.org.uk)

Meeting and Talk

The story of Stephen Welch who inherited Ebworth in 1812 was told by Elisabeth Skinner
who investigated whether he was or was not a rotten cad and challenged the audience to decide which..

The talk was preceded by a short AGM
